“SOCIAL BEHAVIOR NU”

Nahdlatul Ulama’ khithah scholars in accordance with the established religious organizations in an effort to establish schools of religious life based Ahlussunnah Waljamaah, by declaring himself as the defender and bearer Ahlussunnah Waljamaah teachings.
NU is the establishment of basic foster social attitudes that are characteristic behavior of NU community, namely:

A. At Tawassuth, it means a compromise or middle, that NU not being good the extreme right (under the guise of religion), and the left (communism), because the policy is always located between two ends (right and left).
At Tawassuth words taken from the word of Allah in Surat Al-Baqarah verse 143, which means the following:
   
"And so (too) We have made you (Muslims), Muslims in a fair and selection [95] that ye may be witnesses of (the act) men and that the Apostle (Muhammad) to witness the (act of) you. We do not set a direction and the kiblatmu (now) but so that we know (so real) who follow the Prophet and who defected. and indeed (displacement direction) it was Very heavy, except for people who have been given instructions by Allah, and Allah will not waste the faith. Verily Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful to man ". (Al Baqarah: 143)
[95] Muslims are fair and serve the people of choice, because they will be witnesses for the actions of people who deviate from the truth both globally and in the hereafter.
Size assessment in the paragraph above are intended as a measure of the Prophet Muhammad that Muslims, being Muslims into human gauges generally.
At Tawassuth attitude proves that it is moderately well NU character in social life, politics, or religion. In the political and social life, NU has never done an activity or extreme movements (tatharruf) against the State, even NU always in the forefront of defending the homeland of Indonesia and became a pioneer of development.

2. Al Iktidal, which means upright, not leaning to the right and left. The word is derived from "al adlu" which means "justice" or "I'dilu" which means being fair as in the Qur'an Surah Al Maidah the meaning of paragraph 8 as follows:
"O ye who believe you So let the people who always uphold (the truth) for Allah, bearing witness with justice. and do not ever hate against a people, encouraging you to apply unfair. Heed, because it's just closer to piety. and fear Allah, surely Allah knows what you do ". (Al Maidah: 8).
Paragraph above, illustrates that the NU is grounded in the principle of perpendicular, meaning NU with this basic attitude will always be a group of peers who act straight, be constructive and avoid any kind that is tatharruf (extreme).

3. At Tasamuh, meaning tolerant. It means that NU tolerant of differences of opinion in religious matters, especially in matters that are furukiah or problems caliphate, as well as in cultural and social issues. Tasamuh principle is also implemented by the Walisongo in performing units in Indonesia in the ancient times. Walisongo to tolerate religious practices and traditions which is run by the local Hindu community, so ajaranya readily accepted by society without violence. Walisongo in carrying out the mission of preaching is not just invite people to Islam, but also seeks to change the social structure of society towards a more just social order, humane, and well rooted in the traditions of the local community. Tolerant attitude toward the culture and traditions of these communities to make NU easily adapt to any culture and conditions and accepted by society at large.

4. At tawazun means balance, not biased, do not overdo anything other elements or deficiencies. The word is also derived from "al Waznu" or "al-Mizan", which means the weights. This is in accordance with the Word of Allah in the Qur'an Surah Al Hadid verse 25, which means the following:
 
"Verily, We sent Our messengers with the real evidence, and We sent down with them the Book and the Balance (justice) that humans can carry out justice. And We have created an iron that it contained a great power and many benefits for mankind, (that they use the iron) and that God may know who is helping (religion) Him and His messengers And God has not seen. Surely Allah is Mighty strong ". (Al Hadiid: 25)

NU uphold the principles of NU tawazun meaning in every gesture and step is always to be balanced. NU meant balancing the relationship with Allah SWT, and relationships with fellow human beings and the environment.

5. Amar Makruf Nahi Munkar which means always have the sense to encourage good deeds, useful and beneficial for life, and reject and prevent all things plunge and lowered the values ​​of life.
